Deck Doctor recently completed a new elevated deck using both pressure treated wood and Trex composite decking and rail caps at a waterfront home in Caroline County, VA. The project originally started as a deck refacing but once the removal of the old decking occurred, the Deck Doctor discovered a bad ant problem and significant rot. After consulting with the customer, it was decided to replace the entire deck.
The new deck included a new set of stairs, decking and rail caps using Trex Transcends Tree House Brown, pressure treated 6X6 posts and joists. They made sure the deck was secured properly to the house and added flashing and caulk to prevent the reoccurrence of water damage and wood rot.
This project was completed in one week and met the customer's deadline well before the Memorial Day weekend where he was having several people over.
In addition, the Deck Doctor included a "Sunburst" pattern on the deck rail at the entrance to give an inviting look.
