Don't Overlook the Importance of Stairs When Designing Your Northern Virginia Deck

When considering the design and layout of your new Northern Virginia deck, don't forget you'll need to incorporate a way to access the deck from below! The deck stairs should be well built and well positioned to allow easy access from the ground below and should not interrupt the overall flow of the deck layout.

Deck stairs should also complement and enhance the deck design. Deck stairs can be built in a number of different styles, even spiral stairs to cut down on the amount of yard space occupied by stairs. Other deck styles and shapes include straight stairs, which feature no curves or turns. L stairs feature a 90 degree angle, while U stairs consists of two flights of stairs that face each other and are joined by a small landing - which could be used for extra planters or even a piece of outdoor furniture - in between. For a fun, whimsical staircase addition, add tube slide stairs to your deck, which enable children to safely slide down the deck to the ground below.
